HOW TO GET TO TARRAGONA

How to get to Tarragona

Tarragona is a coastal city located in the northeast of Spain, approximately 100 km southwest of Barcelona. It is easily accessible by train, bus, or car from several major cities.

By Train
Tarragona has two train stations, so please make sure to check which one your train arrives at:
• Tarragona City Station (Estació de Tarragona):
Located in the city centre, this station is served by regional and long-distance trains from nearby cities such as Barcelona and Valencia.
From Barcelona Sants, you can take a regional train (lines R15, R16, or R17). The journey takes about 1 hour.
• Camp de Tarragona Station:
This is the high-speed train (AVE) station located 9 km outside the city. It connects Tarragona with Madrid, Zaragoza, Barcelona, and other major cities.
To reach the city centre you’ll need to take a taxi or shuttle bus.
For train schedules and tickets, visit the RENFE website.

By Bus
Intercity buses, operated by companies such as Plana, connect Tarragona with cities like Barcelona and Reus. The main bus station is located at Imperial Tarraco Square.
